Nakajo House

  • Location: Suginami-ku, Tokyo

  • Structure: RC structure, 2 floors above ground and 1 floor below ground

  • Family structure: couple + 1 person + cat

  • Site area: ㎡ (tsubo)

  • Floor area: ㎡ (tsubo)

It consists of a graphic designer's atelier, a jams atelier, and a living space.

Since it is a first-class low-rise residential area, the 3rd floor has strict shade restrictions, so we set up a basement to make it 3rd floor. The approach was to use the passage on the premises as a slope and go up the entrance to the first floor of the middle floor. This is to minimize internal passages and reduce the vertical movement of life. The place where everyone gathers is gathered on this first floor, the basement is an atelier, and the upper floor is a private room.

We are aiming for a white gradation that gives the texture of concrete, iron, and wood.
